Challenge

As a vertical AI innovator focused on video, audio, and image creation, HitPaw understands that rapid technological iteration and time to market are key to staying ahead. In recent years, with the accelerated integration and resonance of the creator economy and generative AI, HitPaw is required to outpace traditional SaaS development cycles to optimize products, expand overseas markets, capture global opportunities, and build brand momentum.

When selecting a payment partner, HitPaw had several clear requirements: first, fast integration and agile deployment that support multicurrency and local payment methods worldwide, ensuring expansion into new markets is not hindered by payment limitations; second, automated local compliance support to minimize regulatory burdens and prevent policy differences from slowing down the pace of going global; third, technical capabilities for optimizing the authorization success rate to minimize false transaction rejections to the greatest extent, thereby enhancing the payment experience and revenue performance; and fourth, a robust and intelligent risk-control mechanism to address fraud and high dispute rates commonly faced by SaaS products.

All of these demands pointed to one common goal: enabling the team to focus on core innovation, rather than being burdened by payment and compliance issues. With “speed, efficiency, and global support” set as core criteria, HitPaw ultimately chose to partner with Stripe to lay a solid foundation for its global expansion.

Solution

To enable its multiproduct matrix to quickly enter global markets, HitPaw deployed Stripe’s payment solutions. Without setting up local entities, HitPaw was able to integrate multicurrency and local payment methods with just a few lines of code, greatly simplifying the process of building a global payment system.

Behind these seemingly simple lines of code, Stripe handles the complex compliance and security issues. With built-in compliance features, Stripe Payments enables HitPaw to easily navigate regulatory differences, including region-specific requirements like Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) in Europe.

With the Stripe Dashboard, HitPaw can view payment data across countries and regions, currencies, and product lines under a unified interface, obtaining a clear and real-time business overview.
To tackle common challenges in digital subscription models, such as fraud and false transaction declines, HitPaw implemented Stripe Radar for Fraud Teams, using Stripe’s extensive global transaction network to identify and block high-risk payments in real time. And by integrating the Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) mechanism, HitPaw can automatically issue refunds before disputes escalate, reducing account risk and minimizing revenue loss at the source.

To improve the authorization success rate, HitPaw relied on multiple real-time optimization features built into Stripe Payments. Among them, Adaptive Acceptance uses AI to intelligently determine the optimal routing path and messaging combination for each transaction, maximizing the chances of approval. The card account updater automatically synchronizes users’ updated card information, preventing payment failures caused by expired cards or account changes. Meanwhile, the 3D Secure (3DS) authentication mechanism enables issuing banks to accurately assess transaction risk without disrupting the user’s payment process, enhancing security while optimizing payment flows and improving overall authorization performance.

Results

Global payments integrated in less than 10 days

With Stripe’s unified payment solution, HitPaw significantly improved efficiency across key areas such as global payment processing, compliance management, and risk control, laying a solid foundation for its international expansion. Thanks to Stripe’s modular APIs and well-established development documentation support, HitPaw’s engineering team completed the integration in less than 10 days, saving months of development time and substantial technical resources compared to building an in-house system.

In the increasingly competitive market environment of the AI industry, this efficient deployment strategy allowed HitPaw to focus its technical resources on core product research and development, rapidly enter new markets, seize key windows of opportunity, and secure a valuable first-mover advantage globally.

One-stop support for regulatory requirements across all markets

With Stripe Payments’ built-in compliance features, HitPaw avoided the need to separately manage tax and certification requirements across jurisdictions. A team of just two engineers was able to complete the compliance configuration and meet regulatory requirements such as SCA, Know Your Customer (KYC), and value-added tax (VAT) with ease.

Unified view enables 15 pricing strategy optimizations

With the Stripe Dashboard, HitPaw consolidated payment data across regions, currencies, and product lines, eliminating data silos and providing strong support for decision-making. Based on these data insights, the team carried out 15 pricing strategy adjustments and optimizations across 11 markets, leading to a 30% revenue increase within 1 month.

Localized payments drive cost savings and enhanced user experience

In key markets such as Europe, HitPaw was able to offer local payment methods like SEPA and iDEAL without establishing local entities. Customers could complete transactions in their local currencies, significantly improving the payment experience and steadily boosting market penetration. Additionally, local payment methods have lower processing costs than international card payments, further improving payment efficiency and expanding profit margins.

Enhanced risk control and authorization delivers 45% dispute reduction and boosts authorization rate by 18%

By implementing Radar for Fraud Teams and integrating Visa RDR, HitPaw dramatically reduced fraud-related losses and dispute rates. The chargeback rate dropped by 45%, achieving stronger risk control without compromising user experience, and recovering $200,000 in revenue that might otherwise have been lost.

In terms of payment authorization optimization, HitPaw used Adaptive Acceptance to optimize the routing of authorization requests in real time and the card account updater to automatically synchronize the latest card information. HitPaw also integrated 3DS authentication to provide a seamless authentication experience. These combined measures significantly reduced false declines by issuing banks. As a result, HitPaw’s overall authorization rate increased by 18%.
