New: Sync real-time Stripe data to Postgres with Stripe Data Pipeline
Many businesses on Stripe use Stripe data to power their applications. A subscription business relies on current plan data to update a customer’s account or grant access to paid features; an ecommerce company uses payment confirmation data to fulfill an order.
As agents take on more tasks and businesses build more customer-facing workflows around Stripe data, applications need data they can act on immediately. Businesses on Stripe have asked us for an easier way to keep their application databases current. Developers have typically done this themselves by repeatedly calling Stripe APIs or building webhook infrastructure that copies changes into their databases. They then have to monitor the integration, handle failed or out-of-order events, and regularly check that all their stored data still matches Stripe.
To keep databases current without requiring developers to build and maintain custom integrations, we’re launching real-time sync to Postgres through Stripe Data Pipeline. You can sync payment, customer, subscription, and other Stripe data to a Postgres database that powers your applications. Stripe handles the sync end to end.
Sync Stripe data directly to Postgres
Data Pipeline already lets businesses send Stripe data to a data warehouse or cloud storage for analytics and reporting. Anthropic uses it to accelerate month-end reconciliation, Cursor uses it to report on revenue and churn, and Lime uses it to automate financial reporting.
The new real-time sync sends Stripe data directly to Postgres databases, including those hosted by Supabase, AWS, Neon, Databricks Lakebase, and other providers. To set up a sync, connect your Postgres database and select the Stripe tables you need. Data Pipeline backfills those tables and keeps them synchronized as the source data changes in Stripe. No code is required.
“The value that real-time sync to Postgres creates replaces all of the other work we had to do to get our data,” said Josh Siegel, CPO and CTO at Company Sage. “It’s much easier for us to reduce our old API and webhook infrastructure and just use Stripe Data Pipeline instead.”
Keep data current automatically
Once you set up the sync, Data Pipeline copies existing data from the selected Stripe tables into your connected Postgres database. As data changes in Stripe, Data Pipeline delivers updates to Postgres in seconds.
Data Pipeline regularly audits the synchronized records against the source data in Stripe and resolves discrepancies. The result is a reliable, real-time copy of Stripe data in Postgres, and one fewer system for developers to build, monitor, and debug.
Get started
Postgres is the first Data Pipeline destination to support real-time syncing of Stripe data. Support for Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Databricks, and cloud storage platforms is coming soon.
Real-time sync to Postgres is available in public preview and free to get started. Create a pipeline in the Stripe Dashboard, or read our docs to learn more.
