About the team

The Southern Europe Revenue & Growth team is a high-performing sales organisation focused on helping businesses across Iberia and Italy grow using modern financial infrastructure. We work with businesses of all sizes to power innovative business models, reduce costs, expand internationally, and deliver outstanding experiences for their customers.

What you’ll do

  • As Head of Southern Europe Revenue & Growth, you will lead and coach a high-performing team of account executives and sales managers. You will be responsible for delivering ambitious targets and driving predictable, sustainable revenue growth across Iberia and Italy and across Stripe’s product portfolio.
  • You will be an exemplary cross-functional leader, operating effectively at the highest levels of a matrixed organisation. You will partner with teams across Stripe to achieve our revenue goals and help our users realise their ambitions.
  • We are looking for a leader with a proven track record of building and scaling sales teams in Southern Europe or across EMEA. You will have consistently delivered outstanding results while maintaining a long-term, user-first mindset. You will thrive in ambiguity, operate effectively in a high-growth environment, and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong regional sales leadership experience, including developing go-to-market strategies, launching new products, and scaling technology sales teams. They will be an excellent communicator with a deep understanding of the commercial and cultural dynamics of Iberia and Italy.
  • You will represent Stripe across the broader Southern European ecosystem, building relationships with entrepreneurs, enterprises, financial institutions, fintechs, government agencies, and other key stakeholders. You will participate in industry events and continue to strengthen Stripe’s position as a thought leader throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and lead Stripe’s sales organisation across Iberia and Italy.
  • Help shape the long-term vision and strategy for Southern Europe, with a clear focus on performance against the key sales metrics that drive sustainable regional growth.
  • Deliver targets by product, segment, and country across both new and existing users, supported by strong partnerships with product specialists, Professional Services, Engineering, Product, and Partnerships.
  • Drive user adoption, ensuring that users go live and ramp quickly, achieve their business objectives, and realise the full value of Stripe’s platform.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with C-level executives at users and partners across the region, acting as a strategic adviser while strengthening Stripe’s community in Southern Europe.
  • Lead with clarity and context, sharing insights and user feedback across the organisation and making a significant contribution to shaping Stripe’s product roadmaps.
  • Develop market-specific strategies that reflect the distinct opportunities, competitive environments, and user needs of Iberia and Italy.
  • Represent Stripe externally and raise its profile across the Southern European technology, financial services, and business communities.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 15+ years of technology sales experience, including 10+ years in sales leadership roles
  • Second-line sales management experience
  • Experience leading and managing a sales business in a high-growth financial services or technology environment, with a track record of consistently exceeding revenue and quota targets.
  • Proven experience leading sales teams and driving growth across Southern Europe, Iberia, Italy, or a comparable multi-market EMEA region.
  • Excellent operational skills, including reporting, forecasting, data analysis, and sales operations management.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing sales team.
  • Ability to support teams with strategic account guidance and serve as an executive sponsor for key user and partner relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and build strong relationships with highly technical users.
  • Experience bringing new products to market and developing effective regional go-to-market strategies.
  • Demonstrated passion for scaling technology or payments businesses.
  • Ability to lead effectively across different markets, cultures, and business environments.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish, in addition to English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the payments, card issuing, spend management, financial services, or fintech sectors.
  • Prior experience at a growth-stage payments, internet, or software company.
  • Strong executive relationships and a well-established network across the Southern European business and technology ecosystem.
  • Professional proficiency in Italian, in addition to English.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €284,300 - €426,500. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
