About the Team

The Stripe Data Discovery Team is a vital component to our organization. We maximize the immense potential of data, using it to drive smart decision-making, foster innovation, and guide strategic initiatives. Our team manages Stripe’s exhaustive Data Catalog, making data discovery, understanding, and accessibility an effortless process for all Data Assets.

In addition, we:

  • Deploy robust, easy-to-use Data Integrity solutions to maintain the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of our Data Assets.
  • Provide intuitive Data User Experiences to streamline data discovery, saving engineers time and boosting productivity.
  • Use our user interfaces for Data as a Product to propose a standard approach that reduces discrepancies arising from data variations.

What You'll Do As a Full Stack Engineer on our team, your responsibilities will involve:

  • Embracing diverse full stack technologies and infrastructures, including in-house and external vendor-provided systems.
  • Ensuring that our UI components and libraries are reliable, secure, expandable, and accessible.
  • Creating and sustaining APIs, services, and systems for Stripe's engineering teams.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance or construct new business processes.
  • Working with field teams to deploy the tools we build, ensuring they meet our customers' business needs.
  • Managing and maintaining the systems we own.

Who You Are We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 3-5 years of relevant experience in software development.
  • Is versed in various software languages and frameworks, such as Ruby, Typescript, Scala, Java, React, Airflow, GraphQL, Mongo, Splunk, and SignalFX.
  • Is eager to continuously learn about new technologies and business processes.
  • Has strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortably interacting with technical and non-technical participants.
  • Is adept at critical thinking, particularly in a fast-paced, unclear environment.
  • Has a knack for creative problem-solving, designing, and delivering effective solutions for our users.
  • Enjoys different facets of product development, from architectural design and planning to conducting user interviews and writing code.
  • Finds joy in designing and implementing data-intensive applications.

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €78,400 - €117,600. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
