University Recruiting Manager

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups, use Stripe to accept payments, grow revenue, and create new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. The work ahead is substantial, which gives you the opportunity to help put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing some of the most meaningful work of your career.

About the team

Early careers is a critical part of Stripe’s long-term talent strategy. The University Recruiting team helps shape the company we become by building the systems, programs, and hiring partnerships that bring exceptional interns, apprentices, and new graduates to Stripe.

As University Recruiting Manager, you will lead and develop a team of University Recruiters while owning the strategy and delivery of intern and new graduate hiring across Stripe. This is a high-visibility leadership role with a wide stage: you will work across every line of business and role type, partner with leaders throughout the company, and turn ambitious hiring goals into thoughtful, durable programs. You will also help lead Stripe’s global internship and apprenticeship programs, including onboarding, intern experience, and employee-relations escalations.

What you’ll do

University Recruiting at Stripe is not a transactional recruiting function. This role goes well beyond attending a career fair or filling individual roles. You will set direction for an early careers strategy that supports Stripe’s business needs today and builds the talent pipeline we will need next.

You will bring strategic judgment, a builder’s mindset, and a deep commitment to craft. You will balance the operational rigor required to deliver at scale with the creativity to design programs and experiences that are clear, useful, and memorable. You will use data to understand what is working, where we are falling short, and what needs to change. And you will build credibility with leaders by making complex recruiting challenges easier to understand and act on.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-cycle University Recruiters. Set a high bar for judgment, execution, and candidate and hiring-team partnership.
  • Develop and deliver a clear early careers hiring strategy across Stripe’s lines of business and role families, translating business needs into practical recruiting plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with senior leaders and hiring teams across the company to understand workforce needs, influence decisions, and meet ambitious hiring goals.
  • Lead global internship and apprenticeship programs, including onboarding, intern experience, program operations, and employee-relations escalations.
  • Build and improve the end-to-end candidate experience in partnership with Finance, People Operations, Benefits, Onboarding, Legal, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop thoughtful university, event, employer-brand, and employee-referral strategies that strengthen Stripe’s early careers talent pipeline.
  • Use people analytics, recruiting data, and operational insights to identify patterns, measure performance, inform decisions, and improve the systems your team relies on.
  • Raise the bar for how University Recruiting works at Stripe by bringing rigor, care, and a strong point of view to both the strategy and the details.

Who you are

You are a strategic recruiting leader who sees early careers as a company-building function. You pair high standards with a practical work ethic, and you are comfortable moving from long-range planning to solving the immediate problem in front of you. You care about the quality of the work, the experience it creates for people, and the decisions behind it.

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements

  • Experience designing and delivering a university recruiting strategy or major early talent initiative at a high-growth or complex organization.
  • A proven record of leading and developing University Recruiting professionals. You give clear feedback, build strong teams, and help people grow their judgment and capability.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous, multi-stakeholder problems.
  • The communication and influencing skills to earn trust with leaders at every level and turn ideas into aligned action.
  • A high degree of ownership, a rigorous work ethic, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.
  • An appreciation for craft and beauty in the work. You care about the quality of the strategy, the programs, the candidate experience, and the operational details that make each of them work.
  • A deep interest in people analytics, with experience using recruiting metrics, tools, and process data to improve decisions and outcomes.
  • Experience partnering closely with hiring teams throughout the recruiting process as a trusted advisor.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is SGD 212,000 - SGD 318,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
