Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Accounting Team is responsible for understanding and telling Stripe’s financial story and shaping our collective understanding of how Stripe is performing as a business. Our primary focus is maintaining a well-controlled environment that effectively supports corporate governance, financial reporting and disclosure requirements. We advise and enable Stripe to grow. We operate in a fast-paced environment and collaborate significantly with cross-functional and international teams.

What you’ll do

We are looking for someone to join our Financial Reporting team and be responsible for standing up a reporting structure around global ESG compliance (including CSRD). In this role, you will build robust, global accounting and reporting processes, designed to meet existing regulatory requirements and evolve with new requirements. You will be a thought leader of financial reporting and how that extends to ESG regulations. You will collaborate deeply with Finance, Investor Relations, Climate, Regulatory, Legal and International teams at Stripe.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement global accounting policies, including disclosures and estimation methods.
  • Design effective systems, data collection methods, and internal controls to comply with financial reporting and ESG requirements and ensure consistent data integrity across various reporting deliverables.
  • Collaborate with International Accounting, Regulatory, Legal, Investor Relations, Climate, and other cross-functional teams at Stripe to establish processes.
  • You’re well-informed on ESG regulations to prioritize and build reporting processes supporting Stripe’s compliance.
  • Engage and manage accounting firms for assurance services, as needed.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements (CPA preferred)
  • Understanding of internal control structures
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in evolving areas
  • Detail-orientation with rigorous approach to delivering high-quality work
  • Enthusiasm to get things done through a combination of hands on execution and leading others
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across diverse groups and levels
  • Familiarity with existing global ESG regulatory requirements

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $158,600 - $238,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
