Once you’ve settled on the transaction price, you need to allocate it across the different performance obligations. You do so based on their relative stand-alone selling prices. If these prices aren’t directly available, you’ll have to estimate them using methods such as market assessments, a cost-plus-margin approach, and sometimes a residual approach.
