Product Manager, Invoicing

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Stripe Invoicing team builds software tools that accelerate the economic and technological growth of global businesses by helping them operationalize their commercial relationship with their customers.

Our Invoicing product powers hundreds of thousands of businesses with no-code tools, and flexible APIs, to generate invoices, collect payments, manage reconciliation, and streamline buyer/seller communications.

What you’ll do

Your focus will be on making Stripe Invoicing the best way for any type of business to get paid. You’ll work to design and ship new ways for Stripe users to collect from their buyers more efficiently, make it easier for buyers to pay their invoices, increase recovered revenue from failed payments, and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

You will partner closely with engineering teams to build the right systems and abstractions to make Stripe Invoicing more flexible, and ship critical features that enable users to centralize their payment collection on Stripe. You will work in close collaboration with cross functional teams to build an excellent developer experience, deliver no-code solutions that meet Stripe’s standards for craft & beauty, and define effective go-to-market programs to launch these new capabilities.

Responsibilities

On a day to day basis you will spend your time split between external meetings with customers and internal discussions with your engineering, design, marketing, data science, and sales counterparts. You will identify the most important problems to solve, develop product solutions and work with engineering and design to scope the work. You will articulate the product vision, develop annual and quarterly plans, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver these solutions to our users and make them successful.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements * 8+ years relevant product management experience
* Strong product sense: ability to understand user needs in-depth, exercise great product judgment and build delightful product experiences to solve user needs and make our users successful
* Extreme ownership: there is no problem that’s not your problem. Ability to fully own successful outcomes and figure out how to get there.
* Strong technical skills and partnership with engineers to design complex systems. You are quickly able to gain an in-depth understanding of software systems, build a robust integration with the Stripe API, make meaningful contributions to high-stakes discussions on API design, data modeling and software architecture
* Strong customer empathy across different segments and personas: from startups to large enterprises, across both engineering and finance functions
* Strong communication skills: ability to synthesize complex discussions, write succinctly and present to senior stakeholders both within and outside Stripe

Preferred qualifications * You’re motivated by the chance to improve the lives of your users
* You’ve ever started or run a business before
* You’re scrappy, you do what it takes to get it done

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $178,600 - $268,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
