About the team

User Experience Assurance is a new team at Stripe focused on evaluating and improving user experiences across all of Stripe’s products. This team evaluates, measures, and tracks the experience quality of Stripe’s user journeys. You will work closely with product teams to ensure that Stripe products meet or exceed our high quality bar. In addition, the UXA team works in partnership with product teams to define, maintain, and evolve essential journeys so that we capture the full set of users, roles, and tasks most important to a successful Stripe experience.

What you’ll do

Lead the User Experience Assurance team. As the first member of the team, you will launch and build out the User Experience Assurance team including defining the team charter, hiring the team, and beginning the consistent evaluation of Stripe’s essential journeys. You will be responsible for the UXA team’s evaluation of product user journeys, identifying opportunities for improvement, and partnering with teams across Stripe to measurably improve product quality.

  • Contribute significantly to improving product quality. Ultimately enable exceptional product experiences and reinforce Stripe's commitment to meticulous craft
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive user experience evaluation strategies, ensuring thorough coverage of use cases and driving user evaluation and walk the store practices
  • Define and establish user experience assurance standards, methodologies, and processes to be integrated seamlessly into the product development process
  • Identify gaps and improvement areas within specific user journeys and across Stripe’s product suite. Act as a force multiplier to assist product teams in optimizing and planning for product experience and quality improvements
  • Evaluate and establish key business metrics and KPIs to measure the quality and health of Stripe’s user experiences. Provide consistent reporting and visibility to product teams and leaders, while proactively highlighting areas of risks and opportunity
  • Identify and implement new opportunities to evaluate user journeys and experiences
  • Work closely with our product teams, business leads, and Stripe leadership more broadly

  • 8+ years of experience in a product management, design, quality assurance, or engineering role

Preferred qualifications

  • Confident and comfortable presenting to different types of audiences, large and small
  • Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly
  • Experience with integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $167,300 - $250,900. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
