Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Communications team builds and protects Stripe’s brand and influence across the world. As we grow in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, we’re looking for someone to join our world-class communications team to lead our communications for Australia and New Zealand as well as drive our internal and Brand Communications approach across APAC.

What you’ll do

This is an important job with room to build things from the ground up, while working closely with our executives, engineers, sales, partnerships, marketing and policy colleagues around the world.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on. They’re creative and pragmatic. They have strong media relationships in Australia and New Zealand and a good understanding of global issues and trends. They can translate product specifications into powerful stories to help our key audiences understand what Stripe is building and why it matters—in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Responsibilities

Lead Stripe’s communications strategy in Australia and New Zealand

  • Build our reputation in Australia and New Zealand while managing ongoing opportunities and issues.
  • Work closely with external partners and companies to build customer case studies, infusing their voices into campaigns, news announcements, and other activities.
  • Advocate Stripe’s point-of-view on industry topics, growing our profile as a thought leader among relevant stakeholders.
  • Work in close partnership with the APAC Communications lead, the global Comms team, local and regional cross-functional leaders (including Go To Market, Policy, Marketing, among others), as well as agencies.

Shape Stripe’s internal and brand communications strategy in APAC:

  • Act as the regional lead for internal communications programs, playing a key role in regional storytelling and coming up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Stripe’s unique culture.
  • Develop and manage a strategy to empower Stripe’s regional leaders through the creation of thoughtful internal communications, discussion materials, and iteration in response to feedback.
  • Extend Stripe’s brand beyond our product by building stories around Stripe Press, Works in Progress, and our Climate program.

  • A strong track record building creative communications campaigns from scratch
  • Experience collaborating effectively with policy teams, sales leads, data science colleagues, and other senior executives

Preferred qualifications

  • A demonstrable track record managing multiple markets and projects as well as internal and external stakeholders is a definite plus.

You should include these in your application

  • Resume or LinkedIn profile.

  • Any information you think would be most useful for us in understanding your background and accomplishments.
