About the team

Link re-imagines how merchants and consumers do business—delivering higher conversion, lower cost for our merchants by streamlining payments for consumers across businesses. Link ecosystem org is responsible for the Link consumer and merchant experience.  Our goal is to create the most effective checkout experiences on the internet, delivering delight to consumers and revenue to merchants at the same time.  For consumers, the journey begins at the point of purchase where Link makes it fast and easy for them to complete the purchase while also providing peace of mind and transparency on their purchase through features such as purchase protections. For merchants, Link is a conversion driver while also enabling merchants to reduce their payments costs.

What you’ll do

We're hiring a Product Manager to lead the development of Link’s balance product — a foundational component of how Link evolves from a one-click checkout into a broader consumer financial experience. A balance inside Link unlocks a wide range of potential use cases which we’re actively exploring, including merchant-funded rewards, global remittances, instant refunds, and instant, fee-free payouts to connected accounts, among others. 

Responsibilities

• Owning the strategy and development of the Link balance primitive — from foundational infrastructure to surface-level consumer and merchant experience.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as Treasury, Connect, and Compliance to ensure the balance model is scalable, compliant, and interoperable across Stripe.
  
• Leading product discovery to identify and prioritize high-impact balance use cases, including rewards, refunds, payouts, and more.
  
• Defining how value is stored, surfaced, and made spendable within Link, and working with Engineering to build the systems to support that functionality.
  
• Making foundational architecture decisions — including when to build on stablecoin infrastructure (e.g. Bridge) and with a traditional bank partner.
  
• Designing and shipping the consumer-facing balance experience across Link’s web and mobile surfaces in close partnership with engineering and design.
  

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

• Brings 8+ years of experience in a product role (ideally working on a mix of consumer facing and enterprise facing products)
  
• Has managed high-stakes external partnerships, e.g. agreeing on milestones and executing on an integration into your product. 
  
• Experienced conducting product research and building buy-in for product ideas from internal stakeholders and leadership.
  
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems.
  
• Has a high-level of taste, judgment and design empathy. Is able to use data and insights rigorously to analyze the performance of products.
  
• Takes an ownership mindset and works on whatever it takes to solve problems and delight consumers.
  
• Can put themselves in the shoes of consumers and be a steward of crafting great experiences.
  
• Can dig deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results.
  
• Has the ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  

Preferred qualifications

• Has experience working on world-class consumer and merchant products at scale.
  
• Experience building brand new products or working in a startup environment.
  
• Familiar with developing products for a hybrid 2-sided marketplace for both consumers and merchants.
  
• Experience working with cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, and/or decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
  
• Excitement for developing API products 0-1 at scale.
