About the team

To further this important mission, Stripe is building a world class Internal Audit (IA) team. Our IA mission is to make the business better as it grows. We are consumed with the goal of being agile with the business, powered by technology and an accelerator to the speed of controls integration and compliance adoption.

What you’ll do

Our IA team is responsible for providing objective feedback and insights across the company in relation to the design and effectiveness of Stripe’s business processes, its compliance with laws and regulations and its risk management framework. Unique in our purpose is a cross-functional mandate that invites viewing through a wide lens and collaborating across the business. To enable this engagement, we must build and scale in a rapid-growth, high-volume environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Data Analytics team within audit and work on providing data driven insights across the IA lifecycle. Our DA EMEA Lead will drive the effective use of data analytics techniques to support audits across our Technology, FinOps and Regulatory pillars. They will partner primarily with audit leads based in Dublin to embed data analytics in audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting through active participation in ideation and execution. The DA lead will be responsible for developing analytics to support regulatory requirements for Stripe’s Europe legal entity as well as providing support for local audits. The DA lead will also help with the development of repeatable tools that help our business partners drive better decision-making and achieve improved risk management. Our DA lead will be a key member of the IA team who will help us elevate the ambitions of Stripe. 

This position will be based in Dublin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the data analytics/audit programs in collaboration with the IA team.
  • Originate data analytics ideas, models and dashboards for management reporting. 
  • Drive the integration of data analytics into IA projects.
  • Enhance reporting by incorporating relevant data profiling and visualizations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous monitoring and process automation for IA and stakeholders. 
  • Develop and maintain continuous monitoring queries and related documentation.
  • Document the data analytics and model validation testing results in work papers.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience.
  • Expertise with SQL query, schema and ETL design, and data pipeline development/maintenance (e.g. Airflow).
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming for data mining and modeling (R, Python) and ETL development (Python).
  • Experience with and intermediate knowledge of machine learning techniques. 
  • Experience with reporting and visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau).
  • Exquisite attention to detail.
  • A passion for building unreasonably good products and for driving defining impact.
  • Versatility and willingness to learn new technologies on the job.
  • High tolerance for rapid change and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and share succinctly. 
  • Strong project management skills to multitask, thrive and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience working with basic git commands.

Preferred qualifications

  • Model validation experience 
  • Experience in audit or risk management analytics 
  • Previous experience in a high volume transactional payment environment
  • Experience working with unstructured data (NLP)

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €89,600 - €134,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
