Creating long term value for our users is central to our mission at Stripe. The GTM Industries team focuses on long term growth and value creation for enterprise customers and for Stripe, by understanding the unique challenges they face in their industry and how to solve them.

We focus on building Stripe's expertise within key business verticals, while delivering credibility & thought leadership needed to build relationships with industry leaders to grow the value of their business. Aligned with our GTM and Product teams, the Industry GTM Leads also define relevant, value-centric solutions, support our users and generate new sources of value for users and Stripe.

Our team provides deep industry expertise across Stripe and leads enterprise business development, partnering with some of our most exciting enterprise and large Saas platforms users to address their business challenges and help them grow with Stripe. 

What you’ll do

As a key member of the Global GTM Industry team, the Financial Services and Insurance AMER lead will support our growth strategy in the Financial Services and Insurance industry. You will provide the industry expertise needed to define and articulate the value of Stripe’s solutions in an industry context. As an expert in the Financial Services and Insurance industries, the AMER Industry Lead will bring immediate credibility when engaging with senior executives and across the industry. 

You will collaborate with the core sales, marketing, product marketing, and product teams to embed deep industry knowledge and support account teams to drive strategic deals. You will be instrumental in leading in-depth product discussions with existing and prospective customers – and building and executing against our go to market strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Stripe at Industry events, communities, online events and provide differentiated perspective on industry trends
  • Identify prospective enterprise customers in Financial Services and Insurance industries and supporting account teams in prospecting, pipeline creation and revenue generation
  • Craft high-impact, executive level narrative and presentations for CxOs while working cross functionally with our Sales and Presales teams
  • Support GTM account team across the sales cycle to accelerate the growth of our business with existing and prospective customers, bringing industry experience
  • Serve as both an internal and customer-facing expert on the Financial Services and Insurance industry for Stripe, keeping abreast of global industry and technology trends and how they impact player in AMER
  • Support and enable sales teams to understand your industry more deeply, creating industry playbooks and leading enablement on industry insights
  • Conduct ongoing research on Financial Services and Insurance industry trends to inform GTM strategy, product market fit, and marketing campaigns to identify companies who could partner with Stripe to drive value in their business
  • Build strong relationships with regional sales leaders to be a key driver on strategic account planning and engagements
  • Support the Partnerships team in identifying, prioritizing and engaging with key financial services partners to build a global ecosystem that powers Stripe’s leadership in the industry

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 12+ years experience in payments or technology industry related roles with deep knowledge of the Financial Services and Insurance industry and a track record of top performance; with a particular focus on insurance. 
  • Desired: A commercial mindset, ideally with direct sales experience closing new business and/or expansion of existing users
  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in defining user needs and translating those needs into solutions and GTM strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to derive actionable insights from large amounts of information and clearly articulate complex ideas 
  • A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships  and influence outcomes with business partners
  • A proven ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business results 
  • An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality and thrive in a fast-moving environment
  • The ability to travel around 25% to industry events, Stripe-led events or key customer meetings

Preferred qualifications

  • Payments and/or Enterprise Software industry experience
  • Experience in a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Prior experience leading/growing a high growth industry-focused team
  • Direct or indirect Sales experience
  • Industry lead position

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $232,700 - $349,100. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
