Ecommerce and Distribution Operations Program Manager

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripe Press publishes ideas for progress in technology, science, and economics because we believe that for many of the most significant breakthroughs in each of these categories, the key ingredient is ideas. We want our work to be tools that inspire optimism, catalyze research and development, increase entrepreneurship, and accelerate progress. Some of our books contain entirely new material, some are collections of existing work reimagined, and others are re-publications of past works that have remained relevant over time or have renewed relevance today.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for someone exceptional to support day to day operations and distribution for Stripe’s printed publications, Stripe Press and Works in Progress. As an integral member of the Stripe publishing team, you’ll set and maintain a high bar for execution and manage the processes and vendor partnerships to scale global distribution and get Stripe’s publications into the hands of readers across the world. As an operational expert, you’ll also support the project management of various initiatives across the publishing team.

Responsibilities

  • Executing the logistics, operations, and supply chain management aspects of Stripe’s book and magazine distribution from printer to customer and all the stops in between.
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact with various vendor partners from warehousing to printers for all things supply chain management.
  • Collaborating with project and business leaders across global Stripe teams to ensure internal teams have easy access to our printed publications to support a wide range of programs from corporate events to marketing, recruiting, and workplace.
  • Designing processes and workflows, and implementing tools to make the distribution program efficient and an excellent experience for customers, both internal and external.
  • Identifying and onboarding resources and vendors to help this business scale.
  • Stretching our definition of what’s possible, and working to enable the Publishing team to reach more expansive audiences quickly and effectively.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • You have 5+ years experience managing and scaling distribution and fulfillment of physical goods.
  • You’re an ecommerce and distribution pro who knows the ins and outs of getting high-quality products to customers’ doorsteps—both at grand scale and with high-touch, personalized service.
  • You’re an excellent and experienced project manager who excels at facilitating cross-functional collaboration in order to deliver exceptional results.

Preferred qualifications

  • You care deeply about—and truly understand—good customer experience. You can make decisions that improve efficiency, elevate our brand, and fulfill customer needs, while identifying what’s truly important and what’s superfluous.
  • You’re a step ahead of the game, anticipating challenges in order to reduce them, and building intuitive systems to minimize obstacles and maximize cross-team buy-in.
  • You’re adaptable: You’ll be wearing multiple hats, and managing details and processes across multiple workstreams and initiatives.
  • You’re an excellent communicator and obsess over the details.
  • You’re excited about Stripe’s mission and driven by creating the best experience for our customers.
  • And above all, you’re a team player who strives for happy, effective relationships, amplifies ambition, and keeps a positive attitude under pressure.

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $105,600 - $158,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
