Global platforms face persistent challenges paying workers across borders: high fees, slow settlement, and fragmented financial infrastructure. A growing number of platforms are solving these challenges by paying global workers in stablecoins. This report examines survey data of more than 2,000 independent workers—gig workers, contractors, creators, freelancers, and marketplace sellers—in 20 countries to understand where the opportunity is largest and in which markets workers might prefer stablecoins over traditional fiat payouts.
