About the team

Our APAC Marketing mission is to engage priority audiences through impactful and relevant marketing campaigns and events, to drive growth in adoption of Stripe’s solution offerings across the region. Our Greater China Marketing mission is to engage enterprise organizations, partnering closely with the Go-To-Market (GTM) organization, including Sales, Sales Development, Solutions Architects, Partnerships, and others. The team’s focus is to grow and acquire the enterprise accounts that are global expanders (cross border organizations with headquarters in China), and engage with audiences at each stage of the customer lifecycle journey. What you’ll do

You’ll be part of the Greater China team and be able to set our marketing strategy, as well as be hands-on, and develop a strong trusted relationship working hand-in-hand with sales teams to drive successful user outcomes. As the marketing leader, you’ll own the field marketing function and will set and execute a marketing strategy that delivers high-quality leads, sales pipeline, and ultimately revenue.  You will be a self starter, working closely alongside Product Marketing, Sales Development and other marketing specialist contractor resources. As this is a newly created position, you will have an opportunity to lead the greater China marketing function at Stripe.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and lead the greater China marketing strategy and execute field marketing programs across enterprise customer segments (established enterprises, digital native businesses, software platforms, ), with emphasis on the enterprise segment while solidly collaborating with Sales, SDRs, SAs and Professional services.
  • Own key business and revenue metrics across the sales funnel (pipeline) and customer growth and retention. 
  • Develop a strong trusted relationship with the greater China sales team, working closely with sales leadership and sales development to jointly grow pipeline.
  • Partner with Asia Pacific demand generation and product marketing to refine our targeting and segmentation, and to identify, scope, and produce or localize compelling content, marketing assets and programs to drive demand
  • Define and execute full funnel marketing plans including digital channels and content, demand generation campaigns with partners, sales prospecting programs inc ABM, virtual and in-person field events, and third party tradeshows and conferences
  • Track, measure, and communicate program results, continually optimize for efficiency and scale, and seek to generate new global best practices through experimental efforts  
  • Be creative in finding new ways of advising a diverse range of ‘local personas’ about the value Stripe brings to exporting Chinese businesses

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant B2B demand generation and/or field marketing experience with 5+ years focused on the greater China market.
  • Experience working with Chinese enterprise segment targeting cross border organizations through content localisation and content marketing, event management, partnership marketing, and multi-touch campaigns to generate demand.
  • Proven track record of defining and executing Chinese B2B regional marketing strategies that deliver against funnel metrics and KPIs
  • Mandarin speaking ability is required as you’ll be engaging with some of our most complex China based merchants, agencies and partners 
  • Proven leadership capability and effectiveness working collaboratively and cross functionally:

    • Experience working closely with Sales teams, including joint planning and execution, driving disciplined lead follow up, and earning trust as a strategic business partner
    • Experience working as a Marketing leader partnering with extended marketing teams, and leveraging central APAC capabilities and resources to lead growth in field marketing programs and events, executive programs and partner programs.
  • Experience scaling through/and or leveraging agency, partner and contractor resources

  • Understanding and/or experience with CRM, account-based marketing and email marketing tactics and technology

  • Singapore location required. Market to Chinese organizations remotely.

Preferred qualifications

  • A startup mentality with a bias to action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced industry and work environment
  • Experience marketing cloud services and/or software solutions 
  • Superb organization and project management skills and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects at once
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to craft actionable insights from complex data
  • Resourceful, creative and dedicated to achieving operational and creative excellence
  • Experience delivering tailored and localized marketing content and experiences for large user customer segments with greater focus on the largest enterprise global expander companies
  • Understanding of the payments, financial technology, and/or e-commerce industries and partner ecosystems
  • Demonstrated success delivering marketing programs with and through marketing, consulting and technology partners
  • Experience working remotely (not based in China) and traveling extensively to support the execution of marketing programs and initiatives

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is S$201,700 - S$302,500. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
