Engineering Manager, Revenue and Finance Automation

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Revenue and Finance Automation (RFA) team is dedicated to empowering ambitious businesses to scale their revenue through a comprehensive suite of software services. Our mission is to develop a fully platformized, interoperable, and extensible Revenue Suite, which integrates essential functionalities such as Billing (including Invoicing, Subscriptions, and Usage-Based Billing), Tax management, and Revenue Recognition. This suite aims to provide best-in-class integration with both Stripe payments and processor-agnostic payment solutions.

With 370,000 customers and a significant presence among 21% of our payments users, RFA operates with impressive gross margins of 80%. In June 2024, we introduced subscription pricing plans, marking a pivotal moment for Stripe as it established its first predictable recurring revenue stream, which has already seen adoption from 150 self-serve users and 70 sales-sold users. Our journey in 2024 revealed that while product-led growth efforts may take time to monetize, they significantly enhance product adoption, illustrated by a sixfold increase in Sigma usage. However, we also recognized the need to prioritize our platformization work to navigate the tradeoffs stemming from the varied demands of our large user base.

Looking ahead to 2025, the RFA team is committed to building a highly extensible Billing platform, delivering on key fixed points related to our Product Catalog and Reporting functions, launching a new commercial strategy for an end-to-end tax compliance solution, and continuing to enhance product quality—ensuring that we not only meet user needs but excel in providing top-tier service. Here are the teams that are currently hiring:

  • The Stripe Data Services team is focused on building robust data integrations with major ERP and CRM systems, including NetSuite, Snowflake, Redshift, Amazon S3, GCS, Azure. We manage complex integrations that help customers close their books faster and unlock valuable business insights. As part of our team, you'll engage with cutting-edge technologies in data storage and optimization while collaborating with talented engineers and product managers to deliver high-impact solutions that drive success for our enterprise customers.
  • The Stripe Tax team is building the systems and APIs to make it easy for our users to deal with the complex and fragmented world of indirect tax. The Tax Platform is at the core of this, delivering coverage, calculation, reporting, analytics, and critical tools to deliver fast and accurate tax support across 92 countries and 12,000+ US tax jurisdictions. As a leader on the team, you’ll be at the center of driving our 100% year-over-year growth by helping us deliver high impact features that enable new categories of users on our platform, working with key customers to support their scenarios, continuing to drive performance and scale, and collaborating across the team on our operational rhythm and strategic opportunities.
