Since its launch in 2020, Partiful has grown to millions of users across the US and become a go-to platform for hosting social events, from DJ sets to pop-ups. Today, Stripe powers the payments infrastructure behind ticket sales on the platform. With Stripe Connect and the new Accounts v2 API, Partiful built a ticketing feature that enables hosts to start selling tickets in minutes and makes it easy for guests to buy tickets when they RSVP.

“With ticketing, Partiful becomes an all-in-one platform for any kind of event. Thanks to Stripe, we’ve made it easier than ever for hosts to monetize their events and for guests to keep track of their RSVPs and tickets in one place,” said Shreya Murthy, cofounder and CEO of Partiful.

Removing friction with Stripe Accounts v2 API

Event organizers use Partiful to create events and accept payments for ticketed experiences directly through the platform. With Accounts v2 API, Partiful made it easy for users to become ticketed event hosts. New event organizers are onboarded through Stripe’s hosted onboarding flow, which handles identity verification and payment setup without requiring Partiful to build or maintain that infrastructure. Once onboarded, hosts can accept payments directly through the platform.

Seamless guest checkout

For guests purchasing tickets in-app or online to supper clubs, run clubs, raves, listening parties, and more, Partiful uses embeddable UI elements through Stripe Checkout to accept payments. Checkout securely collects payment details and automatically surfaces the most relevant payment methods. Guests can pay using cards, ACH, and digital wallets, giving them the flexibility to choose how they pay without leaving the Partiful platform. Partiful also plans to add Link, a wallet built by Stripe, which autofills customers’ saved payment information for faster checkout.

Scaling with confidence using Stripe Tax

As Partiful grows its host community and expands its ticketing platform, the company will use Stripe Tax to automate tax calculation and collection across ticketed events. This will help ensure that, as the platform scales, transactions remain compliant.
