Bluevine reaches $100M in payment volume with Stripe and Yeeld

Bluevine is an award-winning banking platform for small businesses that is building a financial operating system for business owners and manages over $2 billion in deposits. In partnership with Stripe and Yeeld, a payments advisory and technology company, Bluevine launched a new payment suite that has processed over $100 million in payments since its debut in May 2025.

Challenge

Eyal Lifshitz founded Bluevine in 2013 after watching his father struggle to manage cash flow for his small business. What began as an invoice factoring company has since become a comprehensive banking platform designed to reduce the number of tools business owners need to manage their finances.

In 2025, Bluevine set out to embed payments directly into its platform, enabling merchants to accept and process payments in the same place where they already manage their financial operations. For small businesses without dedicated finance teams, time spent navigating payment workflows is time taken away from running the business. By eliminating the need for a separate payment provider, Bluevine aimed to give merchants more time to focus on serving their own customers.

“We needed a partner that could move fast, scale with us, and handle the complexity of an embedded payments product for businesses,” said Harini Boienipelly, product lead for merchant services at Bluevine.

Bluevine also prioritized fast, efficient onboarding and a broad range of payment methods to help businesses meet their customers’ needs, including in-person payments. Deep integration with the rest of the Bluevine platform was key, so the Bluevine team sought a strong developer experience with thorough documentation and scalable technology to support continued growth.

Solution

After evaluating several payment providers, Bluevine chose Stripe for its embedded payments solution. “Stripe checked every box,” said Boienipelly. “The developer experience is genuinely excellent, and the breadth of the product suite gave us a real growth path.”

Bluevine built its new payment offering on Stripe Connect, with Yeeld advising on how to integrate Connect directly into the Bluevine platform. As a result, merchants can easily accept payments and manage payment data from the same dashboard they use for their broader banking needs.

Bluevine chose Stripe-hosted onboarding to collect identity and business verification information from merchants. Merchants submit their details through a dynamic, Stripe-designed web form that requests only the information relevant to their business type and location, while Stripe manages the verification process behind the scenes.

Through Connect, Bluevine gained access to Stripe Payments, which supports payments in 195 countries and more than 135 currencies, as well as Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite. The suite includes embeddable UI elements through Stripe Checkout, AI models that dynamically present relevant payment methods, and Link, a digital wallet built by Stripe that enables customers to check out faster with their preferred payment method.

Using Stripe’s payment element, Bluevine enabled its merchants to accept credit and debit cards, ACH direct debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link through both payment links and invoices.

To support in-person payments, Bluevine implemented Tap to Pay through Stripe Terminal, allowing merchants to accept contactless payments directly through the Bluevine mobile app without additional hardware. Merchants can also view, analyze, and report on in-person and online transactions through a unified dashboard.

To accelerate the launch, Bluevine worked with Yeeld, a Stripe Services Premier Partner recommended by its Stripe solutions engineer. Bluevine saw particular value in the fact that Yeeld’s founders are former Stripe employees. "I always think that's such a fun fact," said Boienipelly. "We're working with people that were at Stripe before and know the business inside and out. It gives us a lot more confidence."

During the implementation, Yeeld worked alongside Bluevine's engineering team, providing technical guidance and reviewing implementation decisions, while Bluevine set the strategic vision in close collaboration with its Stripe solutions engineer. For the Terminal rollout, Yeeld advised on reader registration, device compatibility, and the transition from sandbox to live environments.

Throughout the process, Yeeld stayed closely connected to the Bluevine team through regular check-ins and Slack collaboration. The relationship has continued beyond launch: Bluevine continues to partner with Yeeld on integration and optimization work as its payment offering changes.

Results

Bluevine launched payments in six months with Stripe and Yeeld

Integration support helped Bluevine bring its payment solution to market faster than it could have on its own. By working closely with Yeeld and its Stripe solutions engineer, Bluevine launched a fully integrated payment offering in just six months.

“Yeeld helped us move faster and make smarter decisions throughout the implementation process,” said Boienipelly.

Bluevine easily onboarded 35,000+ merchants with Stripe-hosted onboarding

With Stripe-hosted onboarding managing the business verification process, new merchants can get set up and start accepting payments within minutes. Since launching in January 2026, Bluevine has onboarded over 35,000 merchants while minimizing the operational burden on its internal teams.

“Stripe handles the compliance complexity for us,” said Boienipelly, “and it’s polished, so our users have a smooth experience from day one.”

Bluevine merchants have processed over $100 million in payments processed since launch

Bluevine’s merchants have eagerly adopted its new payment capabilities. Since the May 2025 launch, they have processed over $100 million in payments on Stripe.

“Before Stripe, Bluevine merchants could receive money through ACH or wire into their checking account, but there was no way to get paid via card online or in person,” said Boienipelly. “It’s improved our platform in so many ways and it’s been really rewarding to hear the feedback from merchants.”

Bluevine added Link to provide an accelerated checkout option that reduces friction for merchants’ customers and improves conversion rates. “Our merchants love it, and so do their customers,” said Boienipelly. Today, Link payments make up 70% of all wallet transactions (including Apple Pay and Google Pay).

Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite gives Bluevine a competitive edge

With Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite, adding new payment methods is as simple as toggling on a button. “That flexibility is such a neat competitive advantage for us,” said Boienipelly. “Both in winning new merchants and keeping the ones we have happy.”

Bluevine is working with its merchants to identify other payment methods it might add in the future, such as buy now, pay later and other options for in-person payments beyond Tap to Pay.

Bluevine gives merchants a single source of truth across online and in-person payments

By integrating Terminal into its platform, Bluevine has delivered a unified solution for accepting, managing, and analyzing payments no matter where they’re made. “We hear merchants say they love to see all their transactions flow through the exact same dashboard, and be able to run reporting and analyze their money in and money out all from one single solution,” said Boienipelly.
