Vistra helps global companies and funds navigate the complexities of multinational compliance, regulations, and operations, so they can achieve their growth ambitions. In 2025, the company partnered with Stripe to launch the Global Expansion Platform (GEP), a digital platform that streamlines managing multiple entities and incorporation in a foreign jurisdiction. With Stripe embedded directly in the platform, Vistra can securely collect incorporation fees and regulatory payments without disrupting the customer workflow.
"We're excited to offer our clients a simplified, digital experience for expanding into new markets," said Amin Sulaiman, strategic product manager at Vistra. "Stripe gives us the flexibility to support our global customer base with the currencies and payment methods they expect."
Fast time to market
Vistra turned to Stripe to support the multiple currencies and preferred payment methods of its global customer base. Vistra also needed flexible technology that was easy to integrate and manage, to accelerate the launch of the new platform.
"The developer experience was very important for us," said Mervin Tan, lead software engineer at Vistra. "With Stripe, we could easily integrate payment processing into our workflows to enable transactions and allow a client to onboard quickly."
Vistra used Stripe's Optimized Checkout Suite – which includes prebuilt payment UIs; access to many payment methods; and Link, a digital wallet built by Stripe – to reduce the engineering lift and accelerate the GEP launch. With Stripe Checkout, a prebuilt checkout form, it took less than a week to create payment portals for users registering new business entities in four jurisdictions: Hong Kong, Singapore, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
Streamlined operations and security
By using Stripe Payments across all transactions, Vistra was able to replace separate, local payment gateways in each jurisdiction while ensuring that the GEP met Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements. For additional security, Vistra also implemented Stripe Radar to identify and prevent fraud in real time.
Since the launch of the GEP, Stripe has helped Vistra streamline its ongoing operations. Consolidating all transactions into one payments platform has reduced the time and workload for Vistra's finance team on monthly reconciliation and given the company greater backend visibility. For example, Stripe's variable user access controls mean that client teams can verify payment information without going through finance.
Built to scale
Now, Vistra has a flexible payments infrastructure to support additional expansion of its own services. The company can offer new products and services through the GEP, with its developers using Stripe technology to create new payment portals in two to three days. Vistra also plans to extend its Stripe integration into other customer workflows to process online payments for additional fees and services beyond the GEP.
Speed to market is the main reason we chose Stripe, but our ongoing experience has shown how Stripe offers multiple value propositions, from improving operational workflows for our finance team to reducing demand for engineering resources. Stripe means our teams can stay focused on the big picture instead of worrying about payments.
