SAN FRANCISCO—Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, today announced a partnership with Google Workspace to power paid appointment bookings with Google Calendar. The new feature, which is built on Stripe Connect and Stripe Checkout, enables customers to pay for services directly while making a booking on a Google Calendar booking page.

“Stripe makes it incredibly easy to accept payments directly from Google Calendar, so customers can complete bookings and make payments in seconds,” said Ilya Brown, vice president of product management at Google Workspace.

With this new feature, businesses can connect their Stripe account, set a price, and then offer their clients the ability to book and pay for services in Google Calendar. Customers visit their booking page, choose a preferred time, and enter their payment details. Businesses can gate access to a meeting until payment is made through the appointment booking page.

“Making appointment booking and payment ridiculously easy for customers means less administrative work and more revenue for businesses,” said Mike Clayville, chief revenue officer at Stripe.

Over 100 payments optimizations

By using Stripe Checkout, Google Workspace provides businesses that accept payments through Google Calendar with a highly optimized checkout form. Stripe Checkout is crafted to eliminate friction in payments, and offers access to over 40 payment methods. Stripe recently announced findings from a controlled study that revealed that businesses using Stripe’s newest checkout optimizations saw 10.5% more revenue.

Paid appointment bookings will roll out globally to select Workspace subscribers in the coming weeks.
