The world is full of ideas for new software—some of which could have a powerful, positive impact. However, many aspiring innovators face a significant barrier: they lack coding skills and the resources to hire developers to realize their concepts.

Lovable is addressing this barrier with its AI-driven platform, unlocking the potential of noncoders. By putting app development in the hands of everyday people, Lovable empowers them to create in ways they never had access to before. Using simple, natural language prompts, users can generate code, user interfaces, and functionality for their software ideas.

“Creating software is really hard,” said Anton Osika, Lovable’s cofounder. “One percent of the world’s population, or even less, can write code. The other 99% may have great ideas, but no ability to execute them. That’s why we built Lovable—to empower those creators.”

Osika describes the typical experience of a first-time Lovable user as a “wow moment,” as they realize it’s possible to build complex software in a matter of days through simple chats with an AI assistant—a process that has come to be known as “vibe coding.”

When launching Lovable from its base in Sweden, Osika wanted to keep his team focused on developing the platform’s groundbreaking functionality and earning that wow moment—not worrying about technical details around billing systems, payment processing, and other financial infrastructure needs. That’s why Lovable turned to Stripe to provide key financial tools, including payment processing, billing systems, and even business incorporation services. This has allowed Lovable to become one of the world’s largest AI-assisted software development platforms in less than a year.

From a “wow moment” to worldwide popularity

In the lead-up to Lovable’s global launch, Osika and his team needed to establish a US business presence quickly. The traditional incorporation process, with its paperwork and weeks-long approval times, wasn’t feasible for the team’s ambitious timeline. Lovable turned to Stripe in need of startup-friendly solutions that would be easy to implement, yet capable of supporting fast growth and massive scale.

Using Stripe Atlas, Lovable incorporated in the US with just a few clicks. Atlas enables global startups such as Lovable to bank, fundraise, and generate revenue within two business days, thanks to pre-EIN banking and payments access.

With its business structure in place, Osika and his team planned to launch the Lovable platform in November 2024. Motivated to monetize immediately upon launch, the Lovable team used Stripe Billing to quickly spin up a range of subscription plans, including a free tier for individuals and paid tiers that offer graduated levels of monthly usage credits and specialized features. The team also used Billing’s special features, such as its built-in discount codes for active members of their community, saving the company’s engineers from having to write complicated pricing logic in-house.

Soon after Lovable’s global launch, user adoption surged, and it needed to scale its payments infrastructure to process a large growth of transactions across multiple countries, tax regimes, and payment methods. Using Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite, Lovable tapped into more than 150 countries and more than 125 local payment methods, dynamically surfaced at checkout using Stripe’s proprietary AI. Using the prebuilt Stripe Checkout UI, Lovable enabled credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App. For each transaction, the Optimized Checkout Suite uses AI to dynamically determine which payment methods to display based on many signals, which typically results in a conversion boost of 2% to 3%. Lovable also activated Link, a digital wallet built by Stripe, so new users could check out with their preferred payment method in a single click. Link has proven especially popular with Lovable’s users: it’s currently driving 58% of transaction volume on the platform.

This fully integrated billing and payment system has continued to reduce the workload for Lovable’s operations teams as the company has grown. “Stripe handles the entire customer lifecycle—billing emails, payment management, and other back-office tasks—so we don’t have to,” said Osika.

Osika and his team also knew that in the supercharged AI business environment, it’s possible for companies to move so fast that they miss potential new opportunities to seize or risks to avoid. So Lovable gave its team the tools they needed to monitor key performance indicators. Through the Stripe Dashboard, the company can now keep track of important revenue and customer metrics, such as monthly recurring revenue and retention.

These reporting capabilities translate into greater confidence in decision-making. “Finance, product, and support all look at the same source-of-truth events in real time, so anomalies surface instantly,” said Osika.

In the months following its launch, Lovable experienced exponential growth. By July of 2025, just 8 months after launch, the company had reached 2.3 million active users and $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

Lovable wants to help founders create the next big thing

Millions of Lovable users have already discovered how effortless it feels to create full-stack web applications with AI-assisted coding. As the vibe coding trend continues to grow and AI capabilities advance, Lovable’s own platform will continue to evolve. The company has already expanded its offerings to provide plans with shared workspaces for collaboration, higher resource limits, centralized access management, and other features.

Osika expects that Stripe’s technology will continue to save his team time and support the company’s growth. “Adding new products is much easier,” said Osika. “What used to take custom code is now a quick Stripe setup. And Stripe’s solid test environment lets us develop locally and run every flow before production, which cuts down debugging time later.”

The swift transformation of AI has created unprecedented urgency for companies such as Lovable to monetize quickly and scale globally. Stripe’s platform, built over the last 15 years, is designed to meet these demands—providing startups with robust, flexible financial infrastructure that can keep pace with their growth and changing needs. By building its billing and payment system on Stripe, Osika and his team have a strong foundation to support their current operations and future goals.
