Stripe Event Attendee Guidelines

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Our commitment

Stripe is committed to providing a welcoming, professional, and inclusive environment for everyone participating in a Stripe event, whether in person, online, or in a hybrid format.

These guidelines apply to everyone participating in a Stripe event (an "Event"), including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, vendors, and Stripe personnel. They apply at the Event and at related activities that Stripe organizes or sponsors, including workshops, social gatherings, networking events, and online sessions.

Participant responsibilities

All participants must:

  • Be respectful. Treat everyone with courtesy and consideration, regardless of background, experience level, or role.
  • Be professional. Conduct themselves and communicate in a manner appropriate for a professional setting.
  • Be inclusive. Support an inclusive environment by welcoming others and encouraging diverse perspectives and participation.
  • Report concerns. Report conduct that may violate these guidelines. Stripe prohibits retaliation against anyone who makes a report in good faith or participates in a review of a report.
  • Follow Event and venue requirements. Participants must comply with reasonable Event-specific and venue-specific requirements that Stripe or the Event venue communicates before or during the Event. These requirements may vary by Event or venue and may change.

What's not acceptable

The following nonexhaustive list describes conduct that is not acceptable at the Event or at related activities that Stripe organizes or sponsors, whether in person, online, or in a hybrid format.

1. Harassment and discrimination
Participants must not harass, discriminate against, threaten, intimidate, or otherwise engage in conduct that creates an unsafe, hostile, or unreasonably disruptive environment. This includes:

  • Unwelcome verbal, written, visual, or physical conduct, including comments or communications that are sexual, discriminatory, threatening, or demeaning.
  • Repeated personal attention or contact after a person has asked for it to stop.
  • Conduct intended or reasonably likely to make another person feel unsafe or unwelcome.
  • Discrimination or harassment based on age, race, color, national origin, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, religion, or another personal characteristic.

2. Disruptive or inappropriate conduct
Participants must not:

  • Use sexual, discriminatory, threatening, or harassing language, imagery, or humor in presentations, conversations, session materials, chat, or other content displayed or shared at the Event.
  • Disrupt or interfere with sessions, workshops, or other Event activities.
  • Engage in unwanted or uninvited physical contact.

3. Privacy and personal space
Participants must respect others’ privacy and personal boundaries. Participants must not:

  • Intrude on another person’s privacy or personal space, particularly in private or sensitive situations.
  • Stalk, follow, or repeatedly seek contact with another participant after that person has indicated that they do not wish to engage.

4. Credentials and access
Unless Stripe approves otherwise, participants must not:

  • Share, transfer, or permit another person to use their badge, access link, registration credentials, or other credentials used to access the Event.
  • Use another person’s badge, access link, registration credentials, or other Event-access credentials.

5. Safety
Participants must not:

  • Bring weapons onto Event premises unless Stripe or the venue authorizes the weapon.
  • Engage in conduct that endangers, or creates a material safety risk to, any person.
  • Engage in conduct that, because of intoxication or other impairment, creates a safety risk or materially disrupts Event activities.
  • Possess or use illegal substances at the Event.
  • Damage or misuse Event property or venue facilities.

6. Unauthorized activity
Participants must not:

  • Engage in unsolicited promotion, selling, recruiting, or fundraising without Stripe’s approval.
  • Conduct or arrange a brand activation, demonstration, or marketing activity at the Event without Stripe’s prior approval, or state or imply that Stripe has approved or sponsored an activity when it has not.

Online and hybrid Events

For online and hybrid Events, Stripe encourages participants to use a real name or recognizable professional name as their display name. Participants must also:

  • Keep their background, camera feed, and shared content appropriate for a professional setting.
  • Not use chat, Q&A, polling, or other interactive features to harass, spam, or disrupt a session or other Event activity.
  • Follow Stripe’s instructions for accessing and using Event platforms and online content.

Photography, recording, and AI tools

Participants may take photographs and short videos at the Event for personal, noncommercial use if they comply with these guidelines, Event signage, and Stripe’s instructions. For online and hybrid Events, participants may take screenshots of publicly visible session content for personal, noncommercial use. Participants must:

  • Ask before taking a close-up photograph or video of another person and immediately respect a request not to be photographed or filmed.
  • Not photograph, film, or record in areas where signage prohibits recording.
  • Not photograph, film, record, or share Event content in a manner that intrudes on another participant’s privacy.
  • Not record a full Event session or a substantial portion of an Event session, or redistribute session content in a manner that substitutes for attending.
  • Not make continuous, covert, or ambient recordings or transcriptions of attendee interactions.
  • Not use smart glasses, wearable cameras, AI meeting assistants, automated transcription tools, screen-recording software, or similar technology to capture Event content or attendee discussions unless Stripe has expressly enabled or approved the tool for that session and the participant complies with all notice and consent requirements under law, Event signage, and Stripe’s instructions.
  • Not upload, share, publish, distribute, or otherwise use Event content except for personal, noncommercial purposes. Before sharing a close-up photograph or video of another individual, participants must obtain that individual’s permission and respect any request not to be photographed or filmed.
  • Not use Event materials, session content, recordings, transcripts, images, or other Event content to train, develop, or improve an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model or system.

If Stripe provides an opt-out process for Event photography or recording, participants may submit a request during registration. Stripe will use reasonable efforts to honor the request but cannot prevent incidental capture by other participants.

Press and participants seeking to record or use Event content for commercial purposes must obtain Stripe’s prior approval by contacting corporate-events@stripe.com.

How to report a concern

If you experience or witness conduct that may violate these guidelines, report it to Stripe. You do not need to have all of the details to make a report.

1. During the Event

  • Speak to any Stripe staff member.
  • For non-urgent, non-time-sensitive concerns, email Stripe at corporate-events@stripe.com.

2. Urgent or ongoing safety concerns

  • Contact Event staff or venue security.
  • Contact local emergency services if you need immediate emergency assistance.

When possible, include what happened, where and when it happened, and whether anyone witnessed it. You do not need to provide all of this information to make a report.

Stripe prohibits retaliation against anyone who makes a report in good faith or participates in a review of a report. Stripe will handle reports as discreetly as reasonably practicable and may share information from a report as necessary to investigate or respond to the concern, protect safety, comply with law, or manage the Event.

What happens when we receive a report

Stripe will review reports and determine an appropriate response based on the circumstances. Depending on the circumstances, Stripe may:

  • Speak privately with a participant involved in the report.
  • Issue a warning.
  • Remove a participant from the Event.
  • Deny a participant access to future Stripe Events.
  • Refer a matter to venue security or local law enforcement.

Stripe may limit the information it shares about a report, investigation, or outcome to protect privacy, safety, legal rights, or the integrity of its review.

Enforcement

Stripe may require a participant who violates these guidelines to stop the conduct, leave the Event, or both. Stripe may also deny or revoke a participant’s access to the Event and take other action Stripe considers appropriate under the circumstances.
