Located in Wiltshire, Longleat is one of the UK’s most-visited paid attractions, welcoming around one million visitors per year. Longleat was shortlisted for a 2026 UK wildlife conservation award for its efforts to aid the repopulation of the pine marten, a tree-dwelling mammal classified as endangered in England and Wales.

In June 2026, Longleat integrated Stripe Payments to manage payment for park entry as well as its VIP up-close experiences with wolves, lions, koalas, and other animals. By upgrading its payments infrastructure with Stripe, Longleat gave guests more ways to pay and simplified operations on the back end.

“Stripe stood out for its robust technology, ease of integration, and flexibility to accommodate future upgrades to our platform. Having the ability to easily add payment methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna in one integration underscored that Stripe was the right choice,” said Richard Keeble, Longleat’s finance director.

The launch of Longleat’s new Stripe-powered payment platform took less than three months, following initial conversations that began in March 2026. Longleat relied on Stripe’s intuitive, developer-first APIs and worked closely with Stripe’s professional services team during implementation and testing to rapidly modernize its financial infrastructure.

More options for online ticket buyers

Customers increasingly choose travel destinations based on how easy they are to book and how flexible the payment experience is. That’s why Longleat enlisted Stripe to provide guests with more choice in how and when they pay for tickets.

The Longleat team adopted Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite, using Stripe Checkout to enable payment methods including credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Bacs Direct Debit, and OneLink, a digital wallet built by Stripe that autofills customer payment information for a faster, smoother checkout experience across the web and in app. Longleat also adopted the in-app payment sheet to display payment methods, express pay buttons, and a confirmation button directly within the Longleat app.

Longleat also plans to activate payment links to simplify larger bookings. Instead of collecting payment details manually, the team will be able to send secure, PCI-compliant payment requests directly to corporate customers via email.

Longleat also uses Stripe Radar to reduce chargebacks and help prevent fraud, and Authorization Boost, which includes Adaptive Acceptance, network tokens, and card account updater, to improve authorization rates.

A strategic partnership that’s just getting started

While the initial rollout is focused on online payments, Longleat and Stripe are exploring additional ways to enhance the visitor experience and support future growth. Potential next steps include annual subscriptions, additional payment methods, and further refinements to the park’s ticketing system.

“We’re excited to build on the partnership with Stripe as we find new ways to improve the online ticketing experience for our guests and position our business for continued growth,” said Keeble.
