Stripe Savings Services Terms (Preview)

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These terms (“Stripe Savings Services Terms”) supplement the General Terms, the Stripe Financial Services Terms and the Stripe Financial Account Terms and govern the use of the Stripe Savings Account Services. The Stripe User Trust Deed governs the Stripe Trust and sets out the basis upon which Stripe RSP will act as bare trustee. Capitalized terms that are not defined in these terms have the same meanings given to them in the General Terms or the Stripe Financial Services Terms. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these terms and the Stripe User Trust Deed, the Stripe User Trust Deed shall prevail. The Stripe Savings Services are Preview Services.

Stripe RSP holds Funds for Users who participate in the Stripe Savings Account Services as nominee and bare trustee. Each User remains the absolute beneficial owner of their Funds. Funds are held in a Stripe Trust Bank Account, which is a segregated, pooled omnibus bank account, in the name of Stripe RSP at a Partner Bank. Stripe RSP is not a bank and does not operate deposits or savings accounts.

1. The Stripe Trust

1.1 The Stripe Savings Account Services allows User to place Deposited Funds in the Stripe Trust Bank Account and receive Interest in respect of those Deposited Funds held with a Partner Bank.

1.2 When User participates in the Stripe Savings Account Services, User’s Funds will be held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account in accordance with these terms and the Stripe User Trust Deed. Stripe RSP will hold and use any Funds it holds for Users as User’s trustee solely for the purposes set out in clause 1.3.

1.3 By using the Stripe Trust for the purposes set out above, User appoints Stripe RSP as trustee to:

(a) receive Funds from User into a Stripe Trust Bank Account held with a Partner Bank;

(b) hold such Funds on bare trust for User as the absolute beneficial owner of those Funds;

(c) receive Interest paid on User’s Funds from the Partner Bank;

(d) transfer User’s Funds upon withdrawal from the Stripe Trust Bank Account to User’s Financial Account; and

(e) otherwise facilitate User’s instructions, in accordance with these Stripe Savings Services Terms.

1.4 User agrees and acknowledges that (a) it can only use User’s Financial Account to pay Deposited Funds to the Stripe Trust Bank Account; (b) it must be the beneficial owner of all Deposited Funds User transfers to the Stripe Trust Bank Account, (c) the Partner Bank which provides the Stripe Trust Bank Account does not take on any fiduciary or trust obligations in relation to User or the Funds and (d) Stripe RSP does not offer any advice or opinion as to which Partner Banks are appropriate for User.

2. Funds Placement and Withdrawal

2.1 On receipt of a valid instruction from User to transfer Deposited Funds to the Stripe Trust Bank Account, Stripe RSP will redeem the relevant amount of User’s e-money balance held in User’s Financial Account and transfer User’s Deposited Funds to Partner Bank as soon as practicable. For the avoidance of doubt, Funds held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account do not constitute e-money and Stripe RSP’s obligations as an issuer of e-money do not apply to Funds in the Stripe Trust Bank Account.

2.2 On receipt of a valid instruction from User to withdraw Funds from the Stripe Trust Bank Account, Stripe RSP will reduce User’s relevant Funds and credit an equivalent amount of e-money to User’s Financial Account, in accordance with the Stripe User Trust Deed.

2.3 Stripe RSP, in its sole discretion, may credit e-money to User’s Financial Account balance prior to receipt of the withdrawn Funds from the Partner Bank (an early settlement amount), in which event, User confirms that:

(a) upon receipt of the withdrawn Funds from the Partner Bank, Stripe RSP shall be entitled to retain those Funds in reimbursement of the early settlement amounts already paid to the User; and

(b) User has provided an irrevocable instruction to pay Stripe RSP the Funds due from Partner Bank.

3. Interest

3.1 Deposited Funds will only earn Interest once received by Partner Bank into the Stripe Trust Bank Account. User acknowledges that Partner Banks may apply cut-off times for receipt of Funds to earn interest and Stripe RSP has no control over such cut-off times.

3.2 Interest earned on User’s Funds held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account will be paid by the Partner Bank. User acknowledges that Interest may not be paid directly into the Stripe Trust Bank Account. User acknowledges that the Interest payable may change during the time the Funds are held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account.

3.3 User acknowledges that certain fees, costs, charges, and expenses for trustee services may be deducted from the Interest received into the Stripe Trust Bank Account. Such fees will be disclosed to User.

3.4 The fees referred to at section 3.3 above may be varied from time to time and Stripe will notify User of a fee variation by giving 30 days’ notice of such variation. By continuing to hold Funds in the Stripe Trust Bank Account following the expiration of such notice, User agrees to the fee variation.

3.5 In the event of (i) the default of the Partner Bank offering the Stripe Trust Bank Account; or (ii) a Partner Bank applying a negative interest rate (or similar) to Funds held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account, User acknowledges that any shortfall or negative interest in relation to User’s Funds held at the affected Bank Partner will be shared proportionately with other users in accordance with the provisions of the Stripe User Trust Deed.

4. Suspension and Termination of the Stripe Trust

4.1 Stripe RSP may terminate the provision of the Stripe Trust by giving User at least 30 days’ prior notice in writing, unless circumstances require otherwise, as set out in the Stripe User Trust Deed. User may stop using the Stripe Trust at any time by withdrawing all its Funds.

5. Liability and Indemnity

5.1 Stripe RSP will not be liable for:

(a) any loss arising from any act or omission of any Partner Bank;

(b) any loss arising from Stripe RSP acting or relying upon any instruction, notice or communication reasonably believed by it to be genuine and authorised by User;

(c) any loss arising from User’s inability to use the Stripe Trust due to a Force Majeure Event;

(d) any loss of Interest that would otherwise have accrued on Funds held in the Stripe Trust Bank Account during a Force Majeure Event; and

(e) any indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss or damage suffered by User, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss of anticipated savings, howsoever arising.

5.2 Nothing in these Services Terms shall impose any liability on Stripe RSP beyond that which applies under the Stripe User Trust Deed.

5.3 User acknowledges and agrees that the Stripe RSP may be indemnified out of the Funds held in the Stripe Trust against all liabilities, losses, costs, charges, expenses and claims (including reasonable legal fees and expenses) properly incurred by it.

6. Tax

It is User’s responsibility to declare and pay any tax on Interest. Stripe RSP may be required to report such Interest to the relevant tax authority. User authorises Stripe RSP to provide the relevant tax authority or the Partner Bank with any relevant details of User’s Funds that they may reasonably request at any time.

7. FSCS

(a) The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) may provide protection to User, if eligible, for the Funds held with Partner Bank. User may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS in the event that the Partner Bank is declared to be in default. Where User has placed Funds with Partner Bank and Partner Bank fails to make payments of Interest and/or capital repayment when due, User may have an eligible claim to recover any resulting losses. Stripe RSP will notify the Partner Bank that User is absolutely entitled to the Funds Stripe RSP holds on User’s behalf. Whether User is eligible to make a claim under the FSCS will depend on various factors, including the amount of Funds held with Partner Bank and the laws and regulations applicable to the Partner Bank.

(d) In respect of an eligible claim, the current maximum claim is £120,000 per person for all eligible deposits that User holds with each Partner Bank. Please note the FSCS limit is reviewed regularly and may be subject to change. The compensation limit applies to all deposits User holds with the Partner Bank and any other member of its group, and is inclusive of amounts in the Stripe Trust Bank Account, and amounts in personal or business bank accounts which User separately holds with the Partner Bank and any other member of its group. User may not be covered for any excess amount over the compensation limit. User should note that all amounts it holds in accounts with the Partner Bank, and any other member of its group included under its FCA Firm Reference Number registration will count towards the maximum. This means that if User holds more than the maximum claim amount with a Partner Bank and any other member of its group, User may not be entitled to compensation for any amount it loses above the limit. Stripe RSP is not a bank and does not offer any form of deposit or savings account. Stripe RSP is not part of the FSCS.
