Retry failed payments
When an iDEAL, Sofort, Bancontact, credit, or debit card invoice payment fails, Stripe retries the payment according to the Dashboard’s Subscription and emails settings. You can choose the schedule of retries, or you can allow Stripe’s Smart Retries feature to optimize the schedule and number of retries.
Using machine learning, Smart Retries chooses a set of optimal times to retry failed payment attempts, which increases the invoice’s chance of getting paid successfully. Stripe retries the customer’s payment method up to eight times within a user-defined time period. To override this behavior for all invoices, disable Smart Retries by defining your own custom retry rules.
