IT Audio/Visual Engineer San Francisco

The Stripe IT team is looking for an AV Engineer to support our AV technology stack and ensure ongoing successful delivery of AV services globally. This role will be based in San Francisco and will be a primary point of contact for AV Support. You will work closely with our team, business partners and 3rd party vendors, providing support, managing AV/VC systems, handling escalations and acting as the front line for Stripe staff to give guidance on the best plan of action. This position will also be responsible for successful planning, strategy, execution and measurement of Stripe AV Operations and Events.

We’re looking for someone who is excited about AV technology and passionate about providing the best end user experience possible, mentoring others, and driving best practices within the team. This individual may manage deliverables in urgent or maintenance situations, which may require working outside of normal business hours and traveling to remote office locations. The ideal candidate will have remarkable AV troubleshooting skills, several years experience in AV Support in an enterprise environment and the ability to manage vendors and drive multiple projects independently. As the face of IT, this person must understand the office culture and maintain positive relationships with customers, business partners, and team members.

You will:

  • Functions as subject matter expert for AV technologies and operations
  • Build, support and maintain IT/AV design standards and operational processes
  • Be responsible for office build-outs, expansions and system rollouts
  • Partners with external/internal teams to plan, implement, and support AV/VC globally
  • Lead AV projects, diagnose and troubleshoot AV systems, and communicate status
  • Responsible for supporting and troubleshooting AV hardware and software applications
  • Maintains standard operating procedures, best practices, and operational runbooks
  • Manage external vendors for build-outs, maintenance and support
  • Partners closely with Security, Workplace, IT on projects and issues
  • Responds promptly to support requests via email, ticketing, and chat
  • Passionate about providing world-class customer experience
  • Maintains and iterates on AV system security and process
  • Provides timely resolution of AV issues or escalations

You may be fit for this role if you have:

  • 4+ years experience in AV support in an enterprise environment
  • Proven experience with large scale build-outs and system commissioning
  • Proven success using video technologies such as Zoom and Ustream
  • Deep understand of schematics, signal flow, AV concepts
  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Lifesize, audio DSPs and similar technologies
  • Strong customer service, problem solving, and teamwork abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies and concepts
  • Proven experience running and supporting large events
  • Open to travel to support offices and events
  • Experience with VOIP systems
  • Some heavy lifting required
  • Very detail-oriented

‘Nice to Have’ experience:

  • Understanding of network fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc)
  • CTS, Crestron DM, or similar certification
  • Google Apps for enterprise experience
  • Degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Reinforcement or equivalent industry experience
