Build the platform that empowers Stripe to launch new international markets and new products with ease

Stripe makes it easy for businesses around the world to get started and successfully scale their online operations. To successfully onboard thousands of new merchants onto Stripe each week, the Verifications Platform team works to understand our customers deeply. The team supports the end-to-end flow by which we verify the identity of each new business, and the identity of each of the individuals associated with that business. We empower internal product engineering teams to launch new products and new international markets through our powerful platform. And as we do so, we work closely with the Risk and Financial Crimes teams to ensure that we’re keeping Stripe’s risk profile in check and complying with regulatory requirements.

We’re looking for a manager to lead this team building a verifications platform that accelerates product development and internationalization to ensure that we know the identity of each and every Stripe merchant.

You will:

  • Work with engineers, data scientists, and other leaders to guide our approach to people and business verifications from a technical, product, and operational perspective
  • Support the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical quality, reliability, and ease-of-use
  • Manage processes to help the team do its best work and work effectively with the rest of Stripe
  • Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team
  • Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team
  • Be attuned to the broader technological ecosystem beyond Stripe to understand how we can use or contribute to it
