As a Risk Strategist on the Commercial Business Risk team, you will directly impact Stripe’s bottom line and growth capabilities by managing risks for the portfolio of Stripe’s largest and most strategic users. Partnering with Sales, Account Management, Risk Policy, and product and engineering teams, you will develop data-driven, scalable processes and procedures that combine strong risk management fundamentals with seamless user experiences. You will also partner with Data Science, Modeling, and Underwriting teams to lead scalable assessment and decision-making methodologies.

You will:

  • Develop scalable methods to identify, measure, and control end-to-end risks across the user lifecycle: this will involve identifying and helping build crucial risk management systems including in-product and back-end controls, use of third-party risk assessment tools, and implementation of rule-based and model-based detection systems.
  • Identify & define key metrics used to observe the health of the commercial business portfolio.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses on out-of-pattern portfolio trends & customer management issues.
  • Become an expert on the global ecosystem of Stripe’s products, integrations, tools, and partner requirements, and how those elements interact with payment risks.
  • Develop strong internal relationships across risk partner teams (Business Analysis, Policy, and Product) and key internal stakeholders (Business Development, Account Management, Product, Legal, and User Operations).
  • Work with our global banking partners to tailor fraud and credit risk management techniques to different geographies.
  • Work with Stripe users to educate them about and help prevent potential risks to their business.
  • Challenge the payments industry status quo to help enable innovative businesses to flourish online.
