Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Localization Team works cross-functionally with internal teams at Stripe to help them localize their user-facing content into 50+ languages. In Stripe’s fast-paced continuous release environment, it is the Localization Team’s job to ship localized content as closely as possible to the English content release dates.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders to standardize and scale our localization program, creating communication interfaces and reporting mechanisms for executives to follow along. You will identify systemic user and stakeholder pain points across the software development lifecycle, and proactively pursue procedural and technical solutions to make localization a smoother experience for users and Stripes.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify systemic gaps in the localization program, and design and implement technical and procedural solutions to cover those gaps.
  • Devise and implement programs that improve the work environment at Stripe for everyone.
  • Represent localization in a flat structure, managing partnerships with key stakeholders across Stripe.
  • Actively work with our localization vendor(s) to ensure SLAs are met and program improvement remains continuous.
  • Juggle project & program prioritization, ensuring L10n investment stays aligned with Stripe’s core objectives.
  • Be an internationalization guru, leading a share of Globalization efforts in partnership with the i18n Team, and helping to design the next generation of solutions
  • Exemplify Stripe’s operating principles in your daily work.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • Have 2+ years of localization program management experience.
  • Have experience with web and software localization, CAT/TMS tools, and their APIs.
  • Have excellent verbal/written communication, and a track record of securing cross-functional buy-in for your proposed initiatives.
  • Have excellent analytical skills, and a working knowledge of data visualization and process modeling practices.
  • Have excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Have the flexibility to respond to constantly changing requirements in an agile work environment.
  • Proactively anticipate program risks and issues and ensure appropriate mitigation plans are put in place to ensure delivery is not compromised.
  • Work well within a diverse, geographically distributed, multicultural environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Are native or near-native in English and at least one additional language.
  • Exposure to modern standards of language quality management.
  • Client-side or vendor-side experience within an enterprise level program.
