About the team

The Risk team is responsible for the health and success of Stripe’s approach to payment risks acoss credit, fraud, regulatory and the payments ecosystem. Within the Risk organization, the Partnerships Risk Strategy team drives sustained value and growth through risk partner alliances that strengthen and build trust in Stripe for our users.

What you’ll do

As the Head of Risk Partnerships & Strategy for North America, you will own the risk initiatives across payments, systematically making step-change improvements in the breadth and depth of Stripe’s risk management capabilities. You will build and execute a long-term strategy including 1) making the business decisions and policies around risk approaches 2) representing and negotiating our risk approach to payment partners, and 3) optimizing existing operational levers and building new ones.

Responsibilities

• Set the long-term strategy for Stripe’s North America Risk approach, in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders 
• Be accountable for Stripe’s financial partnership relationships with NA Risk stakeholders and overall risk policy and business decisions
• Drive the risk-related partnerships and product discussions with our most important NA financial partners to ensure that we have alignment on risk approaches and strategy
• Develop and manage the processes necessary to allow the team to operate effectively, including team norms and culture; be a strong leader of our incredibly talented team
• Be an evangelist for Risk across Stripe

Minimum requirements

• The vision and executional acumen to run a critical team with board-level responsibilities to mitigate billions in potential losses a year
• An understanding and appreciation of product management, product data structures, and APIs
• Experience managing a global team in a fast-paced company
, with the ability to recruit, manage, and mentor high performing individuals
• The ability to represent Stripe effectively at the executive level with government agencies, and a wide range of external partners
• The drive to flourish with minimal guidance; proactive and thrive in uncertain and ambiguous environments
