Education

The Head of Learning will be responsible for developing and overseeing learning and development at Stripe. You’ll define our global learning strategy derived from Stripe’s business strategy. Your team will coordinate with functional learning and enablement teams across Stripe to ensure a coherent experience for Stripes. Collaborating with these teams, you’ll oversee learning infrastructure and tooling to propel Stripe’s organizational capabilities. Your team will be responsible for the global onboarding program and developing and curating learning offerings in engaging formats. You will partner with our leadership and manager development team to help managers orchestrate more deliberate and reflective practices to intertwine work and learning. This high-visibility, high-value work will have a clear and lasting impact on Stripe’s culture and business success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assess learning and development needs and map emerging skill requirements against competencies, identifying gaps and prioritizing resulting programs
  • Collaborate with business and HR leadership to identify key competencies by experience level and functional expertise
  • Lead the design, development, delivery, and iteration of core learning pathways supported by content and programs through using a variety of mediums to drive learning goals and promote inclusion and belonging
  • Adapt global learning programs to local learning needs
  • Oversee and ensure effectiveness of learning technologies in partnership with HR Operations and Systems 
  • Oversee Stripe’s global onboarding program
  • Identify new training techniques, methods, and tools to ensure best practices are being implemented
  • Develop partnerships with outside vendors  
  • Evaluate and analyze effectiveness through program assessments and metrics
  • Manage and develop a small team of Learning and Development specialists across global geographies
  • Develop marketing plans to effectively promote opportunities 

While it’s not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Passion about helping people learn and grow
  • Ability and desire to be hands on in building and measuring programs and tools
  • Exceptional communication, project management and management capabilities
  • Ability to deeply understand your users 
  • A high threshold for navigating ambiguity and building effective solutions that scale
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning principles to deliver large-scale development programs and interventions
  • Demonstrated expertise in using data to inform decisions on effectiveness of development experiences - and an understanding of what creates both learning and behavior change resulting in measurable improvement 
  • Experience leveraging technology to curate and deliver high-impact learning 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • 15+ years of experience in leading a learning and development function (e.g., instructional design, LMS, behavioral change practices, delivering value metrics)
  • Experience working with learning and development vendors, including existing relationships
