The Finance Operations (FinOps) team provides and enhances core business services that are the backbone for Stripe globally. FinOps uses data and operational excellence to deliver technology solutions, procurement, billing and payroll services, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management to Stripe.  We are a global team and expanding to Ireland.  

We’re looking for a hands-on Manager to build our customer (“User”) Billing team in Dublin. This right candidate will help us improve user experience through accurate and timely workflows, data driven analysis and deliver improvements through our integrated financial systems with business partners, financial colleagues and engineers.  This is not a Sales Account Manager role.  Instead, you are at the heart of User Billing by:  

  • Building out a strong team that puts the needs of our Users first
  • Consulting with Sales on deal design that minimizes operational friction 
  • Delivering accurate User onboarding and billing
  • Partnering with engineering teams to deliver better systematic solutions
  • Partnering with account managers to solve user inquiries related to implementation, billing, and collections
  • Performing month-end close process and reconciliations 
  • Assisting the Tax department with accurate tax billings (sales tax, VAT, etc.)
  • Responding to inquiries Issue and post bills, receipts and invoices
  • Developing, maintaining and improving performance metrics
  • Performing root cause analysis for billing defects 
  • Setting the pace and direction for your team at a fast growth, data driven company 

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Has 10+ years of accounting or operations experience, with a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance 
  • 5+ years of attracting and managing a high performing team  
  • Detail oriented, but can visualize the larger impact of a series of transactions
  • Process-oriented with an understanding of both financial and operational controls
  • Comfortable working with manual and automated processes
  • Able to earn trust quickly through communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

You will also likely have:

  • A mix of public accounting or consulting and private industry
  • Knowledge of (or experience in) the payments industry and experience reading and working with contracts
  • Lean six sigma or related certification 
  • Demonstrated professional experience using Excel and working with large data sets; experience with SQL, Tableau or Python is a plus
  • Knowledge of Receivables system functionality within an ERP (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Netsuite)
  • The ability to be flexible and comfortable with dealing with ambiguity
  • A builder’s mindset and a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom
  • A passion for creating new systems and solving problems via infrastructure and automation
