Engineering Manager, Edge

The Edge team provides the capability to provide robust, secure global connectivity for all of Stripe’s products. The current focus is improving ingress, egress, and static asset delivery for all of Stripe’s users across the globe.

We’re looking for a manager to lead an established team of engineers. Our ideal manager is excited by high throughput networking and systems design, and ensuring the engineers are able to innovate and make the right trade-offs. We are working towards delivering new capabilities to ensure Stripe is globally accessible and secure, which includes shipping projects like compute at the edge, intelligent routing and rerouting of requests, and differentiating and prioritizing specific types of requests.

You will:

• Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team
• Work with the engineers to ensure the team charter and roadmap are ambitious, achievable, and impactful
• Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability and simplicity
• Develop engineers and engineering managers on the team, helping them advance in their careers
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team

It’s not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas—we’re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in some of these areas, and have some interest and capabilities in the others.

We contribute to existing open-source projects and the people working on them, and we release several tools as open-source.
