What you’ll do

Help build the Credit Risk team at Stripe!

We’re looking for a creative, smart, and driven individual to join our Small Business Credit Risk  team.

As a strategist on the Credit Risk team, you will help manage a rapidly growing merchant portfolio by guiding Stripe’s credit strategy and devising growth-friendly solutions that reduce overall credit risk. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills combined with the ability to distill down complex financial concepts to simple narratives. You are adept at building and deploying credit risk policies, models and metrics. This is a high impact role that involves cross-functional partnership with Data Science, Engineering, and Product.

Responsibilities

  • Manage credit risk for a portfolio of new and existing small to medium-sized businesses
  • Analyze account activity and monitor portfolio trends to identify opportunities for Stripe to reduce potential credit losses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Data Science and Engineering to tailor credit risk management techniques to different geographies, industries, and business models
  • Help scale risk processes by working with internal/external partners to design and optimize outsourced workflows
  • Leverage your analytical skills to provide credit risk recommendations, deliver insights, and support strategic business decisions
  • Refine tools and processes to help the group deliver on key performance indicators
  • Help drive a risk-centric approach to innovating Stripe’s products and infrastructure
  • Challenge the payments industry status quo to help enable innovative businesses to flourish online
