About the team

Frontier is an advance market commitment to buy $1B+ of permanent carbon removal by 2030. Frontier aims to send a strong demand signal to researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors that there is a growing market for their technologies. Frontier was founded by Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta and McKinsey, and operates as a subsidiary of Stripe.

To avoid the worst effects of climate change, most climate models agree the world will need around 6 billion tons of carbon removal a year by 2050. If successful, we’ll increase the likelihood that the world has the portfolio of carbon removal solutions needed to reach these climate goals. Read more about our approach here.

What you’ll do

The market for carbon removal has grown rapidly in the last few years and yet, at the same time, it is not growing fast enough to be on track to meet climate targets. In this role you will be responsible for helping grow the market for carbon removal via Frontier. Your work will largely be focused on the private sector, but you will partner closely with our Market Development & Policy Lead to creatively supercharge market growth. The ideal person for this role has a track record of finding and closing large deals with a diverse set of stakeholders, loves toggling between strategy and execution, can quickly ramp up on the technical details of carbon removal, and moves with the urgency that the field requires. 


  • Develop a strategy to substantially grow the market for private sector contributions to Frontier 
  • Execute this strategy, meaningfully growing carbon removal purchases via Frontier, which will mean sourcing and closing large new buyers for Frontier
  • Radically improve the scalability and efficiency of our current fundraising motion
  • Find creative leverage points to grow the market beyond just 1:1 sales
  • Learn the ropes of carbon removal and stay up to date on the field in order to communicate effectively with potential buyers

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • BA or BS degree
  • You have 7+ years of sales or fundraising experience and a track record of initiating and closing complex deals
  • You are a uniquely compelling verbal and written communicator with a knack for tailoring your communications to your audience, be it an exec or junior employee

Preferred qualifications

  • You have developed a GTM strategy for a new product and executed that with great success

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $155,500 - $233,300. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
