About the team

We’re looking for mid-level Android engineers with empathy for users and a deep understanding of the Android platform to help define the future of Stripe’s mobile apps.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Stripe’s Android app in Kotlin
Work with engineers on product teams across the company to develop new features for Stripe mobile users
Collaborate with mobile developers who work on the Stripe SDKs and Stripe Terminal to set best practices for mobile development across the company
Work with user research and product design to understand users and address their needs

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer with professional Android development
Proficiency in Kotlin or Java
Have a desire and ability to empathize with the many different types of users who depend on Stripe’s mobile app
Listen well and internalize the best ideas from all over the organization while also setting a vision that others are excited to get behind
Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what is lasting and scalable
Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts

Preferred qualifications

(Bonus) Additional development experience outside of Android, such as with iOS or Full Stack Experience

Our Chicago, Dublin, and Singapore teams spend at least 50% of their time in their local offices. We believe that more in-person interactions will contribute to better results for our employees and Stripe. Increased office time allows for improved collaboration, efficiency, and informal learning opportunities, fostering a stronger community and building our culture. We will apply the insights gained from these initial three locations to continue refining our hybrid approach.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $146,500 - $198,100. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
