About the team

The Account Executive, SMB team is a highly consultative sales team that is responsible for the growth of Stripe’s largest and fastest growing Startup and SMB customers. As an Account Executive, SMB team member, you’ll identify new opportunities for our clients to get the most out of Stripe by quickly understanding our clients’ needs, execute scaled sales strategies to close upsell and renewals with existing Stripe customers, and drive end-to-end campaigns to increase adoption of Stripe’s offering.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Identify high-potential prospective users from inbound leads and outbound prospecting
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for startups and small/medium businesses
  • Develop and implement full sales cycle strategies for driving product adoption, net new product sales, and client retention at scale among existing Stripe customers
  • Solve complex client needs and work across product, sales, risk, and operations teams to improve our product
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for startups and small/medium businesses
  • You need to generate your own leads through cold calling, blitzing, research, networking, and driving your territory.
  • Make every potential Stripe user happy with every interaction, regardless of deal size
  • Identify and understand users’ pain points to propose Stripe solutions
  • Make sure that internal teams are set up for users’ success by coordinating with other Stripe teams

Who you are

We’re looking for a well-rounded strategic seller who can build strong relationships with Stripe’s clients and manage high velocity deal cycles.

Minimum requirements

  • 2+ years of sales or prospecting experience, preferably at a technology company, with a track record of top performance
  • Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems and build great relationships with technical customers
  • Analytical ability to manage complex sales cycles
  • Experience managing projects with input from cross-functional teams
  • A knack for working well with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Ability and motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

 

 

Hybrid work at Stripe

Our Chicago, Dublin, and Singapore teams spend at least 50% of their time in their local offices. We believe that more in-person interactions will contribute to better results for our employees and Stripe. Increased office time allows for improved collaboration, efficiency, and informal learning opportunities, fostering a stronger community and building our culture. We will apply the insights gained from these initial three locations to continue refining our hybrid approach.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $146,000 - $197,600. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
